RIP Julien McMahon. His version of Victor Von Doom felt the most in line with the classic comic version, and his performance was... well, fantastic.
RIP Julian McMahon (1968-2025) 🙏🏻🕊️
RIP, Julian McMahon (1968-2025). He may not have been the most accurate Doctor Doom from the comics, but he definitely gave the best performance he could've and was actually pretty fun in this movie as a more cunning and sly version of Doom, especially as a businessman. This movie holds a special place in my heart because it introduced me to the Fantastic Four as the first Marvel superhero team I ever learnt about, and it made me a massive fan of the Fantastic Four comics as a whole. Even though this film isn't perfect and is quite campy, the cast themselves are incredibly good, as they really capture the fun, dysfunctional family vibes of the Fantastic Four in the comics. The cast also has great chemistry with each other, which really sells it. The Fantastic Four was also the comic book team that helped Marvel Comics Publishing get out of bankruptcy back in 1961, and thanks to both Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, both coming up with the idea of the Fantastic Four as a true family of superheroes who argue, squabble and irritate each other but still love each other. Thus, sales increased enough for Marvel to create countless other characters we love, so with the Fantastic Four, Marvel Comics may not have even existed? I'm incredibly excited about the MCU Fantastic Four movie because I love the cast, tone, visuals, and chemistry, but I will always be grateful for the 2005 film for introducing me to the Fantastic Four comics.
Fun fact: Stan Lee made a cameo as Willie Lumpkin, the mailman — marking the first time he played a named character from the comics in a Marvel film.
Given the time and era this came out, Fantastic Four was a fun and charming comic book film, and Ioan Gruffudd and Michael Chiklis' depictions of Reed and Ben were earnest and underrated. RIP to Julian McMahon too
How Chris Evans played 2 completely different personalities perfectly for both Johnny and Cap is beyond me. What a legend ❤ I do miss him as Johnny Storm
This is my FF. I liked these movies. RIP Julian McMahon. I actually saw him as Doom in everything after this.😢❤
Rest In Peace Julian McMahon aka doctor doom
I really enjoyed this film on first viewing on opening weekend. I never understood why so many disliked this film..
