Adapted from Mario Puzo’s bestselling novel, the film chronicles the rise and transformation of the Corleone family, blending operatic tragedy, ruthless power plays, and intimate family drama into a landmark American epic. Set in post–World War II New York, the story centers on the aging mafia patriarch Don Vito Corleone, portrayed by Marlon Brando (On the Waterfront, Apocalypse Now), whose quiet authority and moral code define the family’s empire. When outside forces threaten that empire, Vito’s youngest son Michael Corleone — played by Al Pacino (Scarface, Dog Day Afternoon) — is pulled from reluctant outsider into a cold, calculating successor. Michael’s descent from decorated war hero to feared crime boss forms the film’s haunting emotional core. The legendary ensemble elevates every frame: James Caan (Misery, Thief) as hot-headed eldest son Sonny Corleone; Robert Duvall (Apocalypse Now, Tender Mercies) as the family’s steady consigliere Tom Hagen; Diane Keaton (Annie Hall, Something’s Gotta Give) as Kay Adams, Michael’s moral anchor and witness to his transformation; John Cazale (Dog Day Afternoon, The Deer Hunter) as the fragile Fredo Corleone; and Talia Shire (Rocky, Creed) as Connie Corleone, whose personal tragedy echoes the family’s violence. Iconic moments include the opening wedding sequence, Vito’s whispered advice — “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse,” the shocking horse-head scene, Michael’s restaurant assassination, Sonny’s brutal tollbooth ambush, and the unforgettable baptism montage that seals Michael’s fate. With its moody cinematography, Nino Rota’s immortal score, and endlessly quotable dialogue, The Godfather remains a defining study of power, loyalty, and the price of legacy. #TheGodfather #TheGodfather1972 #AlPacino #MarlonBrando #FrancisFordCoppola #CrimeDrama #MobMovie #ClassicCinema #AmericanEpic #CorleoneFamily #MovieReaction #FilmReview #CinemaHistory #ClassicFilm #ClassicMovies #React #ReactTo #Reaction #DonCorleone American Gangster (2007) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/KkYhz3L-Z7o Goodfellas (1990) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/FBYETV4Q6NI Scarface (1983) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/z5J5uuEHPGg The Untouchables (1987) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/ZMUu9tlzFdc Dances with Wolves (1990) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/w2jBdP6nvIY 0:00 Checking In! 1:45 The Godfather Reaction 35:23 PRIZE PICKS 36:45 The Godfather Movie Reaction 1:11:47 JOIN US ON PATREON 1:13:37 The Godfather Review Follow Coy: https://www.youtube.com/@CoyJandreau https://www.tiktok.com/@coyjandreau?lang=en https://www.instagram.com/coyjandreau/?hl=en https://twitter.com/CoyJandreau Follow *Aaron Alexander* https://www.instagram.com/therealaaronalexander/?hl=en Intense Suspense by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ RR Clips & Shorts Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ReelRejectsClips Follow TheReelRejects On The Socials: IG: https://www.instagram.com/reelrejects/ TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@thereelrejects?lang=en TWITTER: https://twitter.com/thereelrejects FB: https://www.facebook.com/TheReelRejects/ Music Used In Ad: Hat the Jazz by Twin Musicom is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Happy Alley by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Head Editor: https://www.instagram.com/praperhq/?hl=en Supervising Producer: https://twitter.com/nerdchronic?lang=en Co-Editor: Greg Alba Co-Editor: John Humphrey Music In Video: Airport Lounge - Disco Ultralounge by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Follow & Listen to Us Wherever You Get Your Podcasts!! - Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3XHMwbveiznxSOGxN9XT0M - Google Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5tZWdhcGhvbmUuZm0vc3Rhci13YXJzLXRhbGs - Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-reel-rejects-tv-movie-recaps/id1616339990 - Audible: https://www.audible.com/pd/The-Apocalypse-Podcast/B08JJP58FG Follow GREG On INSTAGRAM & TWITTER: https://www.instagram.com/thegregalba/ https://twitter.com/thegregalba PLAYLISTS: Movie Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw-comtadVs8b9JsZEWHUyr8

The cat in the opening shot was not supposed to be there. It was a stray cat that just wandered on the set and made itself at home on Brando's lap and he ran with it.

Michael may have seemed meek and mild at first but you have to remember he was a decorated soldier who had been in the Pacific Theater which the fiercest fighting in WWII. He had likely fought in hand to hand combat, chopping up the enemy with shovels levels of violence. Sonny and the others had no idea who they were dealing with.

Fact: The guy who played Luca Brasi was an actual mob enforcer. He kept fumbling with his lines because he didn't wanna embarrass himself in front of Brando, lol

"They had numbers on their side." As soon as they see Michael and Enzo standing guard outside the hospital, they know something went wrong with their plan, and have no way of knowing what the situation inside is. Since only their best guys would be on a job like that, there's no way they go ahead under those circumstances.

The way Michael settles in his father's chair (throne) ... the change in Michael has already occurred and nobody in the room realizes it yet.

No death scene with Brando?! Unbelievable choice in editing.

Brando was in his 40s, but by his later scenes, you were convinced that he was a much older man. Brilliant acting.
