I think the whole elf queen story is so glossed over and it really makes thranduil tragic and relatable. He just wanted his wife’s jewels as a memory.
Thorin Oakenshield - "If more people valued home above gold this world would be a merrier place" is one of my favorite lines of the hobbit trilogy.
“Farewell, Master Burglar. Go back to your books, and your armchair. Plant your trees, watch them grow. If more people valued home above gold, this world would be a merrier place.” that last line from Thorin is always very heart breaking
The deer that the elf King is riding is actually based on the real animal, the extinct Irish elk, which was even bigger than a moose, and that is exactly how their antlers looked and their facial features. They have been extinct for supposedly 8 to 11 thousand years now, they still find their antlers from time to time in the bogs.
The way Thorin overcame his dragon sickness is astounding, given how powerful dark magic and influence like that can be in this world. It's almost like resisting the One Ring, but in a different context. Thorin is my favourite character and Richard Armitage did a FANTASTIC job playing all aspects of him.
Bilbo and Thorin friendship/love is one of my favorite things about this movies Thank you so much for the journey!
"He was my friend", gets me everytime :')
The moments in Thorin's dragon-sickness where he still shines through again when he speaks to Bilbo talking about everyday things are so moving. Richard Armitage did a great job here.

I absolutely love Bilbos grit when confronting Thorin “would never have doubted the loyalty of his kin!”
