My 6 sisters & I (HBCU graduates) own a Private School. We serve students K-12th grade. We are grateful to control our own curriculum to serve primarily black students. We have made a huge difference in a community that has been impacted by crime, lack of quality jobs & major housing struggles. My sister shared her dreams about the school & the youth we serve on the Jennifer Hudson show🙌🏽.

Black parents have to be empowered to get involved with their public schools. Parents have sooooooo much power They simply need to show up to meetings or meet with the principal. That's what makes other schools successful. Parentsl involvement.
Shouldn't the objective be to improve schools for all children !!!
Charter schools aren’t a better choice and yes they drain resources from the surrounding community schools.
Is there a difference between non-profit Charter Schools VS for-profit Charter Schools? I live in NY and I think Success Academy is a non-profit CS and National Heritage Academy (Riverton charter school) is for-profit. For-profit gets state funding but non-profit relies on donation?? This is a question. You all need to look into the National Heritage Academy HQ in Michigan. I think they own the school buildings and charge states like rent but they did not buy building. It is a mess.
