At least Grinch eventually discovered he loved Christmas. OP is WORSE than the Grinch.

His daughter suggesting to post that story knowing fine well he’s going to get ripped is hilarious.

OP is worse. Not only did he ruin Christmas, he poisoned memories they could have had with their mother. Happy memories they could had looked back on, all destroyed by their father.

OP mentions 7-8 month of maternity leave. “Oh, this ain’t America lol” OP mentions Sweden. “Yup. fuckin knew it”

grinch had valid reasons too though! He hated it for the noise and the wasteful gift tossing, its likely how he got his dog because someone threw the puppy away once the novelty of the pup wore off!

Remember! The Grinch didn't hate Christmas. He hated people. Which is fair.

Just because you don't like Christmas doesn't give you the right or privilege to project that feeling onto your children and ruin the holiday for them

“Just a joke” is just an excuse bullies use to downplay their awfulness and put the blame on their targets instead of taking accountability of their actions. OP continuing to repeat that his girlfriend is beautiful doesn’t make him a good boyfriend when he refuses to stand up for her.

As a swede I can say that what OP in the second story thinks is "laziness" is in fact a culture that nurtures and maintains a healthy work-life balance, I truly pity people who have been brainwashed to think not working constantly is lazyness or lack of ambition.

"I didn't try to make you hate Christmas!", dude even before the son listed how you not only prevented Christmas activities but general winter activities, you literally assumed/expected he hated it like you do when you asked him how he felt about his wife liking the holiday. The simple fact you had the assumption in the first place suggests that yes, you tried to raise him in a way that would make him hate Christmas.
