Description

Sky News contributor Adrian Hayes says the Argentinian football team’s Falklands banner is a reminder “politics should be out of sport”. “It was stupid of the players to hold this banner up, and I think very disrespectful to those who lost their lives in the Falklands conflict,” Mr Hayes told Sky News host Jaimee Rogers. “Politics should be out of sport. “FIFA needs to come down on this quite hard. “Taking the knee, which England were doing for many years, LGBT flags, Palestinian flags, get it all out of sport.”

If I was a British fan, I would have pulled out a huge banner with a big photo of Margaret Thatcher saying: NO THEY ARE NOT…

gotta ban kneeling during anthems, political warmup attire, answering questions about anything other than sports.

England themselves don't separate politics and sport, given their stance on the Russian suspension.

I noticed the flag was all white and they have written on it. That was the same white flag that came out pretty quickly once the British turned up back in 1982.

I wonder what kind of sanctions FIFA will impose. I doubt it will carry much weight. Just follow the money. Serbia when still Jugoslavia, they were getting sanctioned left and right, but not many people cared, they don't draw money like Brazil or Argentina. As for the Falklands, I hear the residents don't want anything to do with Argentina. Why won't a journalist go down there and take a survey? For the right price, I'll go and be as comprehensive as possible.
