Bro just trust me, double down and put all on red, eventually we'll be golden, just another trillion on red, bro, trust me, bro
Assuming 3.2 trillion dollars a year in revenue, they would need to extract FOUR HUNDRED dollars out of every single person on earth. Infants and elderly included. How would one think this is even a possibility? A trillion is a LOT
You can surely make good assumptions on how they might be becoming profitable. Thinking they are going to be making 3 TRILLION in revenue by 2029 is literal madness.
16:01 - 2030: Revenue of 13 trillion. Ain't no way... that's 46% of USA's current GDP and 15% of the rest of the world's GDP.
6:25 that sounds like a ponzi scheme with extra GPUs
This only works if the models keep getting better - at some point some companies will put 100B$ in and only get 10B$ out since the model didn't come out right.
Infinite growth aka "line go up" is by far my favorite modern economic theory. "OpenAI doubled its userbase last month. If this trend continues, in a year it will have over 800 billion users worldwide!"
So many unanswered questions. Maybe a dairy farmer can answer. - Your cow is growing faster than anything anyone has seen so far. What if the growth goes logistic instead of exponential? - What happens to milk prices if the Chinese cows manage to catch up? - Will people pay all that money for hallucinogenic milk? - Will we ever get hallucinogen-free milk? - People don't seem to want milk from old cow once new one's is available. How does that affect profitability? Personally all my dairy needs are met by $20/mo Claude code. And $8/mo T3 chat if I ever feel like drinking milk from a different farm. I have more than more than enough milk already. How much do you pay for dairy? 🐮
It should raise suspicion every time that a company starts doing weird accounting tricks such as "if each model were a different company, it would be profitable". This might be a right way to think once in a while, but overall it's a classic misdirection tactic.
So at $27 per customer open ai only needs 481 billion customers by 2030
