when are you gonna build the ChatThing
This is why I would be very reluctant to go with any service business that doesn't list the actual pricing on the website. The concern is the pricing is eventually the maximum you can pay!
"No one wants AI daily summaries in slack" Ho ho! Have you not met many large enterprise middle-managers?
I was in a Bernie Sanders Slack group back in 2013. We hit the rollback limit some time in 2014. I messaged the Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield, asking for an extension and offering to pay myself. I was blocked, kicked from the group, and ghosted. Fuck Slack.
My problem with this video is that, while this is Salesforce, this same sort of thing is the RECOMMENDED PLAYBOOK for the unicorn start-ups that Theo pushes and invests in. Get a lot of customers, fight to win the market to get lock in, and then raise rates through the roof! We keep seeing it over and over. (It is the start-up playback, but as Salesforce and all the big media companies with their streaming services have shown us, the cancer has spread.)
Slack did give these kids a great lesson by doing this!
The PR damage to slack from this is likely worth more than everything they would have ever made from that NPO
Salesforce is evil therefore slack is now evil
Slack wanted $7/month/user for our non profit HS robotics team, we moved off that so quick. (The team had about 100 people involved with students, mentors, and parents, but the LDAP had about 500 accounts from all levels in it, and we would have been billed at that number)
I have worked with Salesforce as a partner for over six years. Salesforce does not do anything for free, even if you are a non-profit. If you are going to use Salesforce, you better bring your checkbook with you, and have good medical insurance for when they stab you in the back.
