Is Theo just a wrapper of current tech news? 🤔
Yes, everything is a wrapper. The question is: how thin/thick is the wrapper to warrant its value and existence.
The abstraction layer is the proper term for a “wrapper.”
When people are criticizing things for being "wrappers" they dont mean that, the technology offered is built on top of some dependency. That's a straw-man. The criticism is to the lack of value offered by the product over the dependency itself. If i make a chat app that just sends your messages to gpt with a personalization prompt and gets back the response. That app has little to no additional value. Also, a lot of wrapper critiques are aimed at technological achievement rather than how well a wrapper does in the market.

Assembly is just a wrapper for logic gates.
There's nothing wrong with abstraction. The bad thing about most wrapper-companies is that they don't really add value to what they use. If I buy KFC, change the label, and sell it twice as expensive next to KFC, my company has no value. I'm just hoping to get suckers to buy what I sell
the mustache was just a wrapper
I love this Theo transition period where I don't know if we will get the old look or the new look.
About halfway through my brain stopped hearing "wrap" and started hearing "rap". I now need some artist to call themself "Justa Rapper"
