Theo, it's me, your only viewer. Over the years, I've created the illusion that many people were watching you, but it was all me. Now, I will send this message from all of my accounts.
Damn, your whiteboard breakdowns are so good. It's literally the reason why I'm here everyday.
This is genuinely one of your best videos in terms of information density, helped me understand the pros and cons of the different Postgres db providers, especially Neon.
Neon’s story feels like a cautionary tale: Build a great product, raise insane funding, hire like an enterprise giant… then realize too late that free-tier devs and AI bots won’t pay the bills. Meanwhile, PlanetScale quietly focuses on actual revenue and survives the ‘serverless Postgres’ wars. The real winner? Databricks - they just bought a user base for pennies on the dollar.

That cost breakdown section was amazing
Would love to see a full video on preview environments. Great content, as usual!!
Thanks, lots of insights. Man, why is there so much of that 'Theo, it's me, your only viewer' junk here?
Neon is not a full rewrite of Postgres. They still use the Postgres frontend and the logical replication. In fact, they source data from the logical replication data and expose it as a Postgres page server, that's the high level storage layer.
bro, in this one you've been in the zone for 36 minutes, in one shot, go! 🏆
