The rear camera is behind the VW logo so it is always clean. When engaging reverse, the logo flips upwards.

All the plastic parts inside and then the air filter box being locked down with Torx is hilarious.

You're 100% correct on the clunkiness between 1st and 2nd gear. Coming to a stop in my mk8 GTI more often than not, feels very jittery, almost like the engine is shaking. Not a good feeling, but other than that, car drives like a dream.

I have this car. My 5th VW. The best one of the bunch. I don’t live in city traffic so I don’t know about the engine problem he mentions. Definitely one of the most enjoyable engaging cars I’ve ever driven. Definitely believe this reviewer is one of the best.

I respect this review. I have a 2025 GTI like this. I’m 72. My favorite cars 1990 Honda CRX and 3 VW GLIs. This car is the best of the bunch. I’m a manual guy but this car won me over. I look forward to just getting in and driving.
