Description

“You actually have to focus relentlessly on delivering for people in their daily lives and figure out how to do it... so they feel it.” Co-founder of The Liberal Patriot Substack and co-author of “Where Have All the Democrats Gone?” Ruy Teixeira sits down with Jon Stewart to discuss how Democrats lost their coalition of working-class voters and economic instincts. They talk about the decline of Democratic economic policies since Bill Clinton, whether DEI and “woke” culture are turning people away from the party, and what Teixeira views as an era where both Democrats and Republicans may not be interested in forming a dominant majority coalition. #DailyShow #Democrats #Republicans Subscribe to The Daily Show: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwWhs_6x42TyRM4Wstoq8HA/?sub_confirmation=1 Follow The Daily Show: Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheDailyShow Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thedailyshow Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thedailyshow Stream full episodes of The Daily Show on Paramount+: http://www.paramountplus.com/thedailyshow Follow Comedy Central: Twitter: https://twitter.com/ComedyCentral Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ComedyCentral Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/comedycentral About The Daily Show: Jon Stewart and The Best F**king News Team host The Daily Show, an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning program analyzing the biggest stories in news, politics, and culture through a sharp, satirical lens. Rare to hear people talk honestly about the issues within the democratic party on TV. Props to Stewart and the show for allowing a real conversation about politics.

Universal programs like paid family leave, school lunch programs, and medicare for all help disadvantaged people more, but are popular because they help everyone.

I want Jon and Ruy to do a 2-hour, long-form discussion on EXACTLY this kind of thing. We need to be talking about this MORE, not less.

An excellent discussion. I wouldn’t overlook Johns throwaway line” people aren’t really readers anymore”.

Fantastic guest!!!!!! Such a rarity to have someone not afraid of disagreeing and being able to offer counter arguments and facts, particularly at the risk of offending this audience’s beliefs. Loved this discussion.

Jon was talking over this guy to the point that he got understandably irritated. It turned from an interview into a debate that Jon was trying to win without really listening to the other side.

WOW, honest conversation without "hate, and name calling". A chance to give thought to both sides of an argument. They actually parted as friends.

It has always, and will always, be about the money while humans are in control.
