It’s not just the people under 35, it’s the people over 60 who are just as lost, being taken advantage of, & addicted to social media. Everybody in between had the advantage of already going through the phase & growing out of it. The older addicts are still recent adopters while the youth have grown up in a world not knowing what it’s like to be without it. I left Facebook, Instagram, & Snapchat in 2021, after joining in 2006 at 18, while still using YouTube anonymously for educational & entertainment purposes, and my mental health is beyond healthier. I know it’s kind of ‘social media’, but still a far cry from the constant toxic pressure/addiction of getting likes & attention, blindly following social trends, and the unhealthy attachments to toxic habits that come from the clique-based digital social circles of interacting with the same small group of people who you aren’t really friends with in real life.
sounded like some appreciative parents in the audience.
Also encourage kids to meet for D&D or board games in general.
I’m more worried about my mom’s gen. She’s gets fed so much slop and she believes it all.
Loved “How to Break Up with Your Phone” by Catherine Price ❤❤❤
It's easy to take kids off the screens. Here's what nobody talks about: what do we do with our elders? They are being ravaged by the modern internet addictions and we didn't even help them understand it.
Its all about doing it together!!
I think the older people have the most phone problems...
Next step: no social media for adults!
Just checked my local library...like 22 physical copies, 13 ebook copies, and even some audio book copies...ALL currently checked out, lol
