Description

“There’s a line in my movie, ‘When you leap into the unknown, you prove you are free,’ so I leap into the unknown whenever I can because I want to be free.” Legendary Academy Award-winning filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola sits down with Jordan Klepper to discuss his aim to explore America’s parallel to the rise and fall of Rome with a big stylistic swing in his latest film “Megalopolis.” They also discuss the importance of risk-taking in life and art, and how the film’s ending reflects Coppola’s own optimism for the world. #DailyShow #FrancisFordCoppola #Megalopolis Subscribe to The Daily Show: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwWhs_6x42TyRM4Wstoq8HA/?sub_confirmation=1 Follow The Daily Show: Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheDailyShow Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thedailyshow Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thedailyshow Stream full episodes of The Daily Show on Paramount+: http://www.paramountplus.com/thedailyshow Follow Comedy Central: Twitter: https://twitter.com/ComedyCentral Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ComedyCentral Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/comedycentral About The Daily Show: Jon Stewart and The Best F**king News Team host The Daily Show, an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning program analyzing the biggest stories in news, politics, and culture through a sharp, satirical lens. "I don't have to wear same-colored socks if I don't want to. And neither do you." As life advice goes, I feel this is on par with Warren Zevon's "Enjoy every sandwich" (and lest you misunderstand me, that's meant as a compliment). Thanks for having him on your show. That was a highly enjoyable watch.

I think I've always known F.F. Coppola was a brilliant and talented film maker. But until now I wasn't aware how wise he is. I'm very glad I didn't skip this interview.

What a breath of fresh air Francis Ford Coppola is. His movies are all independently ahead of their times.

The point that art is about more than profit is well made - it's something that's been forgotten, which is why so little of today's film is art.

Masterclass A man constantly thinking and knowing how to think is hard to follow. But it's possible to observe him and learn.
