Appreciate you having me on, Steven — truly one of the greatest to ever do this. Grateful for the opportunity to have a conversation with someone who continually raises the bar! Keep leading the way — the world’s listening.
I’m 72 (female) and I was a pretty good athlete at 35 (heptathlon) and at 70 deteriorated to the point where I was sure I was going to die from an accident just carrying groceries up the 46 steep steps to my apartment. I’ve come to feel the secret of success is setting your goals so low you almost trip over them. My first pathetic goal last year was to take the 46 steps 10 times every other day . What’s amazing is how quickly you progress. In one month I was running 100 steps nonstop - no gym membership required. I did the same thing doing 10 pushups leaning over the sink and one month later 3 sets of perfect pushups on the floor. Set low goals and rejoice at the body’s ability to improve fast!
question? do you like these types of convos? If so please hit the like button on the vid - that’s the best way to let us know ❤ (also, would be doing me a big favour if you could subscribe & join our community 🙏🏾🥲) i appreciate you - SB!
I did not expect to see Jeff on here! This is fantastic and great recognition
64 year old female here - started 5g creatine a day in Greek yoghurt a month ago and and I am sleeping much better. I am a beginner at weights but have gone from little weights 2kg each hand dumbbells to 5kg.
Jeff's 5 essential exercises for a strong foundation: 54:20 1. Single leg RDL (hip hinge) 54:30 2. Squat and reach 55:29 3. Sumo Squat stance and hold (horse stance) 56:50 4. Posterior chain push up 58:00 5. Side lying hip abduction
I started with Athlean-X about 15 years ago. Jeff’s workouts are brilliant, but I’ve never heard him in a non-workout sort of conversation, so this is a belter of a surprise!
The first five minutes of this hearing the story of the man with MS brought me to tears because I am 33 with MS dealing with a stress fracture. Gave me the push I needed to continue physical therapy.
I am a male, 42, and I want to thank you for having Jeff on. His youtube channel was one of the first channels that I latched on to when I started losing weight and resistance training. I have lost almost 200 pounds and put on significant muscle due to his guidance. I have a bit of an interesting story myself. 5 years ago, I was almost 400 pounds and I developed osteomeylitis in L1 and L2 of my spine. I was quarantined to a hospital bed, and due to the osteomeylitis infection eating my spinal cord, I went paralysed from the waist down for a month. I had a PICC line installed and was given extremely heavy injectable antibiotics 3 times a day and had to lay motionless in a hospital bed for 6 months. Luckily the injections started working and I slowly was able to get back up, but due to laying in a hospital bed for that long, I had to learn how to walk again as all my muscles had atrophied. I am now able to walk, jog, mountain bike, even sprint again. I am resistance training in the gym doing all the compound lifts. If you get anything from this posting from me, please know that you and you alone have the drive, motivation, and strength to make a change. With the help of people like Jeff, it's doable. Its not going to be easy, I wont lie, but the boost in mental health, physical health, emotional help, etc... its worth it!!!!
As a primary care physician in practice for 40 years I can confidently say that this video needs to be a public service announcement!
