Jurassic Park (1993): "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should"

I'm not afraid of artificial intelligence. I'm more terrified of natural human stupidity.

It’s about time we treat these sociopath CEOs’ (and politicians) pathological craving of absolute power, as a dangerous mental illness.

The scary thing is that I see more and more people using A.I and getting addicted to it. My oldest son doesn't want to study for tests, he says he'll just ask ChatGPT for the answers. My mother in law is getting legal advice from A.I. I see a future where our collective brain size shrinks to the point we'll just be brainless zombies. The brain is like a muscle. Use it or lose it.

I don't know if it's her journalism background or the fact that we're finally having a real, honest and different discussion about AI, but I really appreciate her perspective and voice on the matter.

In 1965 Frank Hubert wrote in his critically acclaimed novel– Dune. "Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them"

This is probably one of the BEST interviews you’ve done. This woman is amazing, articulate, compassionate and normal compared to many of the guests.

I have personally experienced what she is talking about as a software developer. I sat in the young obsessed with AI workflows category of people that you've outlined as an asset to your team and it backfired on me terribly. I lead the training on AI development workflows within my company, as a newer employee with these skills I was tasked to train the senior software developers. Once I had revealed my workflows I lost my high paying job and their reasoning was that they overhired due to AI and from there I was forced into data annotation which pays a lot less, is boring grueling work. Has no creativity and problem solving like software development previously. All whilst still having to pay my student loans, feeling completely let down by governments and feeling ashamed that I went from having a good career, able to look after my family to now my knowledge no longer being valuable, and honestly just feeling like a loser.

All we need to know is this - AI companies are not charities, their ONLY interest in returns for shareholders.
