Banks have to be able to put a valid concern on file to delay funds and even then are only allowed to delay for very specific lengths based on the item. The only issue I can see Chase having here is that their automated system didn't flag wildly out-of-pattern check deposits as suspicious enough to place an Uncollected Funds hold. If the check fell into pattern with how the customer usually operates though this next day availability would be *required* by law. Fuck Forbes for encouraging this and for downplaying it as a "glitch"
