This is a huge knock against the credibility of outlets like the Majority Report or Zeteo and commentators like Hasan Piker. You all really need to apologise properly about this and do some serious reflection. Frankly you should be talking pubicly to the people you excoriated for 'puriity testing' because clearly their judgement is better than yours. I think it's good that you have a red line on his behaviour, but the red line should have been miles back from this. Abu Ghraib should have been the red line, Blackwater most definitely should have been a red line, his lack of repentance for serving at the behest of US imperialism should have been a red line. I like the commentators of the MR, particularly Emma, but this whole sordid situation was inevitable and if you folks hadn't decided to punch left to get behind a war criminal you wouldn't be in the situation you are now in. This is a serious issue with white American leftists. You're still not willing to accept that your country is THE bad guy to end all bad guys. I'm not even necessarily blaming American's you're born into an echo chamber that constantly reinforces the exceptionalism of the American Empire, you're naivety is to be expected. In future, I hope this situation causes introspection, perhaps when people demand moral consistency you should take them seriously rather than dismiss them.
