Description

Update on the conflict in Ukraine for September 11, 2023 - Fighting continues around the village of Robotyne despite Western claims that Ukraine has pushed on south and southeast of it; - Russian forces continue pressing along the line of contact across the Donbass region; - The US is considering sending ATACMS to Ukraine. The long-range weapon system does not represent a capability Russia does not already have in greater quantities nor a threat Russia is not prepared to defend against; - Western analysts are beginning to understand the missteps made during Ukraine’s offensive, however, they still insist expanding Western military industrial output quick enough to aid Ukraine in the current conflict is possible (it is not); References: Carnegie Endowment for International Peace - Michael Kofman: https://carnegieendowment.org/experts/2362 War on the Rocks - Perseverance and Adaptation: Ukraine’s Counteroffensive at Three Months (September 4, 2023): https://warontherocks.com/2023/09/perseverance-and-adaptation-ukraines-counteroffensive-at-three-months/ War on the Rocks - US Supplying Ukraine ATACMS Major Escalation; Oil Price Grows, West Gives Up on Rus Oil Price Cap (podcast - September 8, 2023): https://warontherocks.com/2023/09/ukrainian-progress-a-breach-or-a-breakthrough-of-russian-lines/ ATACMS ABC News - US likely to send long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine for the first time: Officials (September 9, 2023): https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/us-send-long-range-atacms-missiles-ukraine-time/story?id=103031722 Business Insider - Russia adapted to the game-changing HIMARS, but Ukraine's new Storm Shadow missiles could put the fear back into its commanders, warfare experts say (May 2023): https://www.businessinsider.com/russia-adapted-himars-ukraine-storm-shadow-missiles-bring-fear-back-2023-5 CNN - Russia’s jamming of US-provided rocket systems complicates Ukraine’s war effort (May 2023): https://edition.cnn.com/2023/05/05/politics/russia-jamming-himars-rockets-ukraine/index.html CSIS - Russia Isn’t Going to Run Out of Missiles (June 2023): https://www.csis.org/analysis/russia-isnt-going-run-out-missiles CSIS - US and Allied/Partner Government (funding): https://www.csis.org/about/financial-information/donors/us-and-alliedpartner-government CSIS - Corporations (funding): https://www.csis.org/about/financial-information/donors/corporations US Department of Defense - Fact Sheet on US Security Assistance to Ukraine (September 7, 2023): https://media.defense.gov/2023/Sep/07/2003296114/-1/-1/0/UKRAINE-FACT-SHEET.PDF CSIS - Missile Threat, ATACMS: https://missilethreat.csis.org/missile/atacms/ Alexander Mercouris - US Supplying Ukraine ATACMS Major Escalation; Oil Price Grows, West Gives Up on Rus Oil Price Cap (September 10, 2023): https://youtu.be/9Gzm2s3HXlg?si=fpwQ6X_rNiveGN5d Where to Find My Work: Website: https://landdestroyer.blogspot.com/ Telegram: https://t.me/brianlovethailand Twitter: https://twitter.com/BrianJBerletic Odysee (YouTube alternative): https://odysee.com/@LandDestroyer:8 Rumble (YouTube alternative): https://rumble.com/c/c-1459863 Weibo: https://weibo.com/u/7726044004 ไบรอัน แฟนคลับ (Facebook): https://facebook.com/BrianThaiFanclub/ Line Group: https://lin.ee/JIxTpKe Gab: https://gab.com/BrianBerletic VK (Facebook alternative): https://vk.com/brianberletic How to Support my Work (and thank you!): Buy Me A Coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/TheNewAtlas Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/landdestroyer PromptPay: 0851547235 Cryptocurrency Donations: Ethereum (ETH): 0xee6ed93c3adc474450011e9af22939a0b9b312c7 BitCoin (BTC): 1AfGnbmHxA6cy9YKUSxysXvpJPyecpBKrr Monero (XMR): 845TCXx3pchSBXuDL7FHG679gbWD2wkHS6MJxuq7jFVsVFj7T6xsry747uhhGZUdkaRXbbrMfo5c8RnGfzGZ13KxQUdHVLR

The proxy war in Ukraine is the first time nato has tried to pick on someone their own size and nato is getting humiliated.

People who think that Ukraine is winning are living in denial. They seek comfort in subjective reality and ignore all the facts.

Russia has a winning military strategy, Ukraine and nato have a PR strategy. The dogs bark, but the caravan moves on.

"We got more missiles than we thought" sounds like "We got some old crap lying around that we haven't dismantled yet."

Ukraine has taken Robotyne about 15 times so far. Guess they must be swapping it between their own Brigades, so EVERYBODY gets a turn to "take Robotyne"

The difference is that Russian advances do not come with massive casualties and they do not attempt to take what they can not hold. The supply lines of the Ukrainian advances in the South are stretched across open country, constantly under attack. Any attempts to reinforce those forward positions will have to travel for a considerable distance enduring massive casualties. The Russian defenders can steadily withdraw to prepared defences and wait for winter to destroy their attackers.

You NAILED it towards the end by saying that China and Russia must combine to make it impossible for the US to continue its adventurism/imperialism.

the Ukraine way of using long range weapons in this war was always making symbolic attacks hitting cities, airports and civilian infrustructure. I have no doubt that if they had ATACMS, it goes the same way

This idea that, given enough help from the West, Ukraine could match Russia industrially & militarily in a decade or two is ridiculous. It's like saying Mexico could become as powerful as the United States if only China would send them enough technological, industrial equipment and financial aid.
