What a beautiful story of scope-creep-driven development lol
Great to see Andreas from Ladybird here. I hope that ladybird becomes another "just a hobby" project that takes over the web :)
my two favorite addicts and tj
I’ve been following Andreas’s work on Serenity and Ladybird for a long time. Glad to see him on the channel.
I can say that watching Kling hacking on SerenityOS years ago was what inspired me to get into Software Engineering. At the time I was finishing high school and wondering what to do with life when I first saw his videos. I'm so glad to see Andreas and Ladybird getting recognized as a big deal for the future of the Open Web.
the moment Andreas mentioned "JS is a garbage collector" and then corrected him self, Prime and TJ started jiggling internally 36:00
Oh! I drank beer with the people working on Ladybird in Brussels and it was so cool to talk to them! They're doing an awesome job.
Love the synchronized head bobbing from Prime and TJ to every thoughtful answer. 😂
Andreas deserves huge respect. Also I liked his attitude towards other projects „I don’t want to crap on other projects“. This is in contrast to what Prime was trying to insinuate about Servo and Rust.
I wrote one, back when the concept was brand new. Was simpler then. But then my boss freaked, because evidently I was supposed to embed IE, rather than write one from scratch
