I remember in the days of dirty jobs I would often think to myself. Why doesn’t Mike do a one on one with the owners of the companies or even a sit down with the guys. Fast forward 15 years and here we are. Amazing!!
In my mind, a neon sign on a business is instantly more attractive than any other. They care, which translates to trust and loyalty.
In my town when I was a kid, there was a sign painter “Jack Green the sign king” and his sign said “A business with no sign is a sign of no business “ that was fifty years ago, I still remember it!
"What would it be like if you weren't stuck?" ... Years ago a preacher asked me: "What would you do if you couldn't fail?" ... bothered my mind for years. Then I got too old...
"Beauty is around you all the time, let it find you." Every hippy from the 60's wishes they had said that.
Evan Voyles, what an interesting guy! Thanks for this podcast. I always remember the dirty job where Mike crawled inside a sea buoy and that tight space gave me the Heebie-jeebies especially when Mike calmly said his colleague with the camera had come inside with him and was blocking the exit. I couldnt have done that in a month of sundays. Hats off to you Mike. I’ve been a fan for decades.
Quality, Price, Speed You can pick 2.
The need for mass production pushed out the craftsman without a doubt
For future reference, I have no problem with free associating conversations from time to time if they're interesting, and all of the conversations here are.
If all business owners were this interesting. You guys were a hoot to listen to.
