Description

What does inevitability sound like? That’s not a thruway line—it’s the question I keep coming back to after this conversation with Jeff Childers. Because something is coming at us, fast, and whether we understand it or not doesn’t seem to matter all that much. In this clip, we get into AI—not the shiny version but the part that’s a little harder to explain. The part where a tool starts to feel like something else. I’m talking about a world where you can ask AI for help on a legal case, get a better answer than you expected, and then immediately wonder if you’ve just crossed a line you can’t uncross. We also talk about authenticity—not in an abstract, philosophical way—but in the real, everyday sense. What happens when the fake thing works better than the real thing? What happens when you can’t tell the difference anymore? And maybe more importantly, what happens if you stop caring? Somewhere in the middle of all this, we land on a strange truth: nobody really understands how this stuff works. Not completely. And yet, here we are, using it, improving it, and in some cases, trusting it with decisions we used to make on our own. I don’t have a grand conclusion for you. But I do think we’re all about to get very good, very quickly, at deciding what’s real, what isn’t, and how much that distinction matters. If it matters at all. #podcast #ai #real #fake My foundation is awarding millions of dollars in work ethic scholarships to men and women willing to learn a skill that's in demand. My biggest concern with AI is, I know who it's parents are.

My grandson who is in high school was bragging to me about writing a 5,000 word paper in 5 minutes using ChatGPT. I asked him what did you learn and he said “I learned to write in AI”. But what did you learn about the topic you were supposed to write about. He had nothing. There is no experience to fall back on to check the validity of the AI text. What if the AI manipulators want to change history?

i’m a realtor. Working in a company ultimately owned by Berkshire Hathaway. They are announcing a new AI program that’s gonna make our lives easier AND the AI program is going to be able to assess our mood and emotions. I’m not sure I’m happy about that. It’s bad enough having humans assess our mood and emotions in interactions. Now I’ll have a fucking computer analyzing me minute by minute, and reporting back to management I’m sure

Mike, you are a true treasure for society. There are many people propped up on a pedestal that aren't even close to deserving it. You however, should be.

The politicians and the people they use to carry out the billions of fraud, this is a world I don't understand.

14:20. That is what absolutely terrifies me is that too much of the population just doesn’t care. And by the time enough people care about what this AI is capable of it will be too late.

I remember watching my manager playing chess online 25 years ago. He was playing other people but using the “Chess Master” game to determine his next move. We have advanced to an era where everyone is doing this for everything, and nobody knows squat about the game they are playing.

The bigger issue is that this is used in schools from elementary to college. Using AI, you are basically outsourcing your critical thinking skills.
