Description

Rick Perry is a terrible retiree. You might think, after governing Texas and running the Department of Energy, he’d relax on his ranch out there in the middle of Texas and enjoy his golden years. But no. Rick is currently up to his neck with two projects, both of which would overwhelm a lesser man. The first is the construction of Fermi America, the largest energy and data complex of its kind. The second is nothing short of a cure for PTSD, which he appears to be on the verge of legalizing. It’s a fascinating chat with a fascinating American, along with five dogs who try to hijack the conversation. A special thanks to: Knobel Tennessee Whiskey—a Knobel whiskey for a noble cause. America needs at least 50 Mike Rows in all 50 States to bring back trade education in every High school in every state. Allow Companies to hire more High school students for apprenticeship after school programs. ❤ This way they'll have the education to immediately get hired after graduation 🎉😊

I find it interesting that both of these guys are sitting in front of full bookshelves. :)

I've always liked Rick Perry, but the story about taking in that young Veteran into his home with all those problems --- wow. What a great guy.

As a Plumber/HVAC tech something that I haven't heard anyone talk about at data centers is the work environment. Out of any job site I have been to working at a data center is my least favorite. Strictly due to the over regulation and over safety orientation mind set at these facilities. Don't get me wrong safety is a good thing in this industry but it has been taking to the point where it takes longer to fill out paperwork then it does to do a task. It is a moral killer when you spend half a day just filling out paperwork to do your work.

I met Secretary Perry early as a young Governor of Texas. I’ve always had the utmost respect for him especially on his knowledge of energy.

Mike, thank you for who you are, what you're doing for the trades and the champion you are for bringing trade and technical education back to high-school and colleges. Continue with your mission and the blessings of millions will accompany you. I have been in construction over 90% of my working life and now, at age 75, I'm still creating and working in wood for myself and others. Blessings.

Mr Governor Perry, what a real genuine act of love, and honor you demonstrated in choosing to meet that young man’s needs in a time of complete confusion and hopelessness in his life. Your actions as a genuine human being and Christian attitude is what all Americans that have been blessed to be born in this country should show their gratitude to all Americans that were willing to sacrifice their minds and body for the freedom and security of our nation! God bless you and your family.

My son learned mechanics from his father. He is now 24 and has his own dump truck, it’s an older one with a Cummins engine and he does all his own repairs on it and a customer that keeps him busy every day and makes $145 per hour. He also has a side hustle doing mechanic work. He had no desire to go to college after graduating high school and he has no debt. He has a burning desire for success that is completely in his control. Very wise young man. Occasionally he will purchase a mechanic special vehicle and fix it up and flip for a great profit. He knows how to seek opportunity and lives life everyday with a purpose. He will make a fine husband and father one day! He does not do drugs or drink alcohol so his mind is not altered. Makes a huge difference when you’re on the road to success. We are so very proud of him 😊

Great interview. Both of these men are giants in every way…their contributions to our society are immeasurable. I salute them and pray that they continue to share their wisdom and good works throughout the years to come. In addition, I hasten to say, that Mike Rowe has more common sense in his little finger than most people will learn in an entire lifetime.

You will not ever hear the left talk like this. I was having a spirited discussion with a left leaning anti Trump guy. He was talking all the anti Trump rhetoric. I listened. I said, "Do you know why people like the president? He is pro USA and gets shit done." What a great message Mike.
