Lauren being on the first episode of the year, and it being 2 hours long is a sign that this will be an amazing year ❤❤.
Not me sobbing at the Archie story 😭
Biggest piece of advice for dating: Who someone is at their worst is who you are dating. If, at their worst, they devalue, disrespect, and abuse you, then that is who you are dating. Many people go through shit and do not hurt someone else, especially the person they ARE CHOOSING to be with.
For the dad that decided to foster the young boy…. thank you. I’m an adopted kid that grew up amongst the foster system. People like you are the reason these kids get another chance. A million times, thank you♥️
1:15:00 I can just imagine archie and henry watching the scene "I always wanted a brother" in Mufasa. Such a wholesome beginning/end to a story😭
"I love her more than I've ever hated myself" SHUT UP THAT'S SO BEAUTIFUL 😭❤
My favorite part of this podcast is the platonic relationship between Lauren and Justin. Just hanging out in the couch, everyone in the room so comfy. These friendships are unfortunately rare but they’re so nice to see!
the update on that last story has me in tears, im so happy bro allowed himself the chance to try at a relationship again
The archie story, i am so glad that the school was aware of his involvement in archie's life and gor him in contact with the social worker too. I feel like it could have easily been overlooked and the situation not turned out how it did. Was definitely crying for that one! 😭
55:45 My mom adopted my best friend and now we are sisters ❤ When my sister K (26) and I (26) were about 12, we met at a summer camp for kids transitioning from elementary to middle school so that going into the new school you’d already made friends. We clicked instantly and became besties. I noticed that she was very timid and didn’t bring school lunches. Id sneak more food for her so she could eat too. My mom caught on and she asked me why there was a shortage of snacks. I confessed and my mom made it a point to pack her an extra full lunch for her. Sooner or later she began sneaking into our house at night to sleep over and my mom was totally understanding. She had been in and out of foster care but always wound back up with us. One day a few years later I get a text from her on an unknown phone number and she told me she was being moved 10 hours away to live with distant relatives. She was then introduced to an even worse abuse and neglect there, without us to be there for her. I was venting to my mom and half jokingly said “Can we just adopt her” and my mom smiled and said that she was already in the process of it. On her 15th birthday we officially adopted her and now 10+ years later we are still besties and sisters ❤
