Ex-OpenAI VP's URGENT Warning!

Every time I get disappointed by a terrible AI flaw, I have to remind myself that the current models provide me capabilities I never had 3+ years ago. I was updating the first 50 pages of our organization's policies so that it aligns with the new regulations. AI made it so efficient. Then I noticed it had hallucinated the last 2 pages!!!!! I tried this with the top models from the LLM leaderboard and same thing. Excitement and then extreme disappointment. We have a LONG way to go.

I have always been obsessed with cellular automata which has a lot of overlap with ai. See Stephen Wolfram’s talks and books on the subject. People like him and Hinton tinkered with the rule sets of automata to arrive at emergent phenomena, but there is not a clear engineering principle that guides the researchers toward complex behavior. It’s like bacteria in a Petri dish.
