I remember riding a train through Utah in the US, and the conductor coming on the PA system to say we were passing a mountain where a coal fire had been burning for hundreds of years. Now, looking it up, it seems that a fire under the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument has been burning for a lot longer than that! Get well soon!

I cooked sausages on those fires in Turkey, and watched the moon rise over the Mediterranean. One of the best evenings of my life.
