If this flyby did happen, could some protoplanetary material have been exchanged between the two systems, like comets or even dwarf planets? If so could we potentially find some of the objects captured from that star by analyzing their composition and cross-referencing it from the composition of the rest of the solar system?
Worlds in collision was one of my favorites as a kid.
I like how it adds some explanation to the Fermi paradox.
