That Dinosaur killing asteroid ejected rocks can one day give life somewhere...
Panspermia is one of my favorite theories, and one of the theories I hope is true the most.
To me, Panspermia always sounds like the worlds worst possible fry up.
"We drift through space, pushed on by the solar wind. The function of all life is survival." - "Invasion of The Bodysnatchers"
Although we cannot prove it, the idea of life on earth originating from alien waste dumped on an asteroid never ceases to make me laugh.
I hate that panspermia is sometimes framed as an alternative to abiogenesis to explain the "origin" of life. It is merely a hypothesis of transmission of life or the materials responsible for it across space, not anything else.
I had forgotten about "Conan the Bacterium." You know what it said as it was blasted off of Earth? "I'll be back."
