I was very impressed with your guests. Certainly surprised of my own level of understanding the concepts expressed in your discussion. Thank you, most informative. As always Dr. Brian Greene does not disappoint.
Whenever I saw Dr Brian Greene talking, that itself turns into a good memory for me.😊 Lots of love and respect🙏 from India🇮🇳
In my opinion, one of the best WSF episodes ever! Terrific panel of guests.
this is a very difficult subject and I could tell that our guests were always clear with their answers.
Outstanding panel of experts! This topic is most fascinating. Thank you Brian.
Science definitely gives new way of thinking 😊
Not only memories mark a section of life we lived, but emotions also do to. Emotions and mind can also write the script for your life story, and it happens quickly too. Especially when angry or in time of sadness. Once the mind is made up, and those emotions distills in us, the solutions running through our minds tend to get to the point where action is taken. It’s either good or bad, but it’s a normal process.
Memory is important to keep personal identity coherent (it’s a process).
One of these days, we will surely going to watch how the memories of the hallucinating mind's. Love it, from Nigeria 🇳🇬
Panelist discussions on practical and relevant topics such as this is what we need more of in society! Though I disagree with the foundational basis of evolution, which they attribute to the complexity and wondrous design of our brain/minds, the neuroscience behind training our brains is quite interesting. One point I never considered that was mentioned is in reference to mentally ill patients and how therapy may not be the best method in eliminating intrusive thoughts. It makes since that if every time we recall a memory it activates and strengthens the original neurons that we shouldn't be retrieving them in therapy but rather creating new beliefs. Nowadays therapy is a sought after practice to help decrease symptoms of depression, anxiety, etc; however, many don't bring up this caveat. One other point that was brought up that I wanted to hear more about but wasn't delved into because of the host was how to use our memory to imagine the future. The only tip that was mentioned was to ask yourself: " If I did this and did that..." as a way to stimulate forward thinking. They should have allowed more time for the guest to explain more on that point. Despite it, overall it was an insightful discussion! Thanks
