Every time the save act comes up, I feel compelled to mention adopted people because no one ever does. But what a huge segment of society that would affect.
First time adult passport fee $165, renewal $130. That's a poll tax and millions of Americans don't have a spare $165 to pay to vote. The Republican Party is blatantly corrupt and anti-democratic. How anybody could proudly call themselves a Republican is beyond me.
"Mike Johnson is not a real person" is the best description of that weasel I've heard.
Emma's wrong, Paxton doesn't have ANY skeletons in his closet, his skeletons are down at the public square dancing the hokie pokie.
Not to mention carrying your birth certificate is so stupid. My mom was doing a traveling job and took hers with her, car got broken into and it was stolen. Took months to get a replacement
Another retiring politician growing a spine.
It’s so on brand for republicans. Create a fake problem, convince people they should be really concerned about it, disenfranchise poorer/non white people, claim victory when the fake problem goes away because they stop talking about it.
Getting my passport on time before my first trip abroad was honestly one of the hardest things I've ever done. After Covid there was a bump in travel and suddenly the wait for passports jumped from weeks to months. It was only through help from my congressman that I got the document in hand the literal day before the trip. To tie this level of inconvenience to voting is a full blown punch to the face of what's left of our democracy
The filibuster enables 41 senators representing around 18 percent of the nation to kill any legislation. The most undemocratic feature of our government.😮
Shell companies and shell politicians. Billionaires always the root source of our problems.
