Another film that started his career is called 'Gallipoli'. It is a definite must watch, and I mean must watch.
The guy who played Toecutter was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Later he played Immortan Joe in Fury Road. He has since passed.
Part 2 "The Road Warrior" is one of my favorite movies since childhood and really sets the tone for all the movies after. Please watch it!
The director, George Miller was actually a doctor in the emergency department of a major Sydney hospital. His hobby was film-making. He made Mad Max on a low budget and, the rest is history!
Important to remember, this was an Australian B movie before Australian films and actors were "a thing" in the U.S. So kinda raw, but it's the OG and sparked a franchise and even a genre that will go on forever.
The director of Babe: pig in the city and Happy Feet presents to you, Mad Max.
My life fades. The vision dims. All that remains are memories. I remember a time of chaos. Ruined dreams. This wasted land. But most of all, I remember the Road Warrior. The man we called “Max”.🚓☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️
"I'm a rocker. I'm a roller. I'm right out of controller. I'm hotter than the rolling dice" - AC/DC 😂
This was Mel Gibson's first iconic character. It wasn't until 2 years after Max had finished the third movie that he finally played Martin Riggs.
This movie is so iconic the expression "Mad Max Scenario" is part of the vernacular.
