I started playing star stable as a child and one thing this game is good at is giving the player the feeling of being left out. The “cool” and the “desirable” horses in game are usually expensive, which means it would take too long to save up for one, which is very tempting for people to buy the in game currency. There are many stories of kids stealing their parents credit cards to buy star coins to be one of the players with “the cool horse” in this game

Star Stable Online is a game I know my younger sister used to be highly addicted to. Playing it every day for hours, neglecting her homework, begging our mom to spend money on it monthly until she went out of her way to find solutions just so she could spend without anyone noticing. She kind of threw all of the money she got into the game and that was 12 years ago, maybe even 13. I can only assume how much worse it must have gotten for it to be picked up.
