My son is at West Point. He has a few more years. I cross my fingers every day and wish in every star that we will have some sanity and intelligence restored before he has to serve. I know I am not the only parent of his class that feels the same.

The Bulwark is absolutely my favorite way to find out what is happening in the news. I knew Mark Hertling when he was a major at the School of Advanced Military Studies at Fort Leavenworth in 1988. He was a fine gentleman then and he still is in 2026. Congratulations Sarah on your book.
All of these incompetent and grossly irresponsible people need to be held legally accountable for their actions and suffer real consequences. Otherwise, this will happen again.
The situation is frightening. I feel horrible for the men and women in our military.
