The problem is, you find a beautiful place and within a few years it gets completely ruined by those who find it too
1. Oman 2. Mauritius 3. Argentina 4. Columbia (bogota) 5. Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) ❤
As a Malaysian who has, of late, fantasised a life in the US and Canada, I often forget how blessed I am to already be living in such a diverse, interesting, friendly, tasty, beautiful country. 🇲🇾
I'm French of Mauritian descent, beware there is corruption on a high scale, ask the locals they will tell you.. Plus it is very small, can feel boring
I think Malaysia as an ex British colony is really enjoyable because English is very highly spoken. Argentina and other destinations are nice but you only get so far. In Malaysia, there's Chinese, Malays and Indian locals, and I've never met anyone there who has no command of English. It's super easy to make friends, and my local friends invited me out to dim sum together. The sports and weather there is also so amazing and I played badminton with some university friends for fun. And the public transit is good enough that you don't need a car. Can take the MRT to get places with Grab taxis on occasion
Argentina is not really underrated, plus their cost of living now is quite high (and still high taxes). Underrated would be Paraguay, some of the lowest taxes and lowest cost of living.
Malaysia is a great country to live in. Clean and beautiful But the value for money in housing prices cannot be compared to Thailand. and independence There are limits to religion in Malaysia. Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, you should try living there for a month and see what kind of lifestyle you like because the culture is different, the local people's habits are different, the environment is different.
As an Argentine, I'm thrilled with the changes we are seeing under President Milei's administration... from a real estate standpoint alone, laws have been enacted that have simplified the process of buying - and selling - for foreign investors - along with bringing down the general price point throughout the process.
Andrews personal favorite is becoming my preferred destination. The pros far outweigh the cons.
Theres negatives to all these countries which have been omitted. Visit a country for 6 months before moving there permanently.
