ID. v Bryan Kohberger - He's Taking A PLEA?

If I’m honest if I were personally involved in this case I’d be relieved. It makes it 100% sure he’s convicted, doesn’t turn your child’s death into even more of a circus and stops people from seeing their autopsy/murder scene photos and pulling their lives apart, and lets you start to move past this with absolute guarantees rather than more appeals. There was also no guarantee of a conviction on any count if he went to trial, the families are mad now but what if he was found innocent? This removed that possibility, no matter how small of a chance that might have been. It is also really grossing me out though the amount of people who are so upset about it not going to trial because now they don’t get to fulfil their own entertainment/curiosity like this is some kind of TV show…

Life in prison with no appeals seems worse than the death penalty.

I gasped so hard I choked a little. I am so shocked. I thought for SURE he would want to go to trial.

I live in Australia, and we do not have the death penalty. Although there are some cases where I would like to see it, I always think that a life sentence is justice, and the death penalty is just revenge. Prison is not an easy place, and I have faith that life in prison will be very very hard.

I know emotions are high right now, and I can’t even begin to imagine what these families have gone through. But it’s a win for everybody to not have to go through a 3 month trial and a 3 decade appeal. It just is.

While I’m sad for the victim’s families possibly getting the closer they wanted by going to trial, I am relieved for the surviving witnesses not having to relive this nightmare on the stand.

All that back and forth, the change of venue, the questionnaires, the delays… all for him to give out right before trial. I feel so awful for the families. They’ve been dragged through hell and back.

I’m actually relieved that this is the outcome. The society will be safe from him and not have to spend ridiculous amounts of money on the appeal process the coming 10+ years. PS, see EDB your old supervisor is right yet again the schedule is going to work for all trials this autumn

I am pleased for the families and surviving victims that this will not be going to trial. He will never see the light of day again.
