Sherlock got a puzzle from his sister to save his best friend as a child and because he cared so much and was emotionally involved, he couldn’t save him and died. This seriously traumatised him. He then started wanting to solve every puzzle out there specially when it comes to murders because he was never able to save his friend. He removed himself emotionally and focused on saving the people or stopping the criminals no matter what. It’s all connected. That’s why Watson was able to get through yo him so much. He finally was able to make another friend.
Una Stubbs (Mrs. Hudson) RIP: Died Aug 12, 2021 (Edinburgh). Sherlock wouldn't have been the same without her.
Thank you for taking us all on this journey again. Just imagine exactly how long we had to wait for each of these episodes! Glad you had as much fun as we did the first time around.
41:41 watched this years ago but I just realized Euros is trying to understand emotions and is asking for Sherlock's help
The kid playing young Sherlock got to keep the wooden sword he carried in the flashbacks. Benedict even signed it for him
Mondays ain't going to be the same anymore.
10:25 "The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth."
The reason why it isn't Irene Adler in the coffin scene is because Irene Adler, as a manipulative dominatrix who likes to maintain leverage over others, is more closely aligned to Sherlock's unknowingly self-protective persona (which is modelled on his subconscious memories of Eurus's psychosis.) Sherlock's true sense of self likes his companions to be caring, quietly loyal, and selflessly accepting of Sherlock's genius, and the strange particularities of the reality of what it means to be that man with that genius. That describes John to a tee. But it also describes Molly. 🫀
In the first episode Lestrade says Sherlock is a "great man and one day he could be a good man", in this final episode he says "he is a good man"
I think Eurus getting Sherlock to say "I love you" to Molly, was her wanting Sherlock to say those words to her really. She just wanted him to say those words. The bonus episode was a Christmas special
