My method: 1. slice off the potato so that two sprouts are on the chunk. 2. Toss it someplace dark and dry for a day or two 3. Get old trash can, drill drainage holes 4. Add a 3 inch layer of 50/50 soil, compost mix 5. And 3 chunks, sprouts facing up 6. Top with layer of soil 7. When plants come up 2 or 3 inches above the soil, cover with another layer 8. Repeat layering until plant reaches top of can 9. When plant starts to turn yellow and die back, tip can over and enjoy your harvest! Do not overwater! Dip wooden dowel in to check moisture. If dowel comes up clean, time to water

I had two potatoes from my pantry that had started sprouting and had shrivel up. I threw them in a 5 gallon bucket two weeks ago. They are just starting to pop up with green leaves through the mulch. Figured this would be a fun experiment to see if I get anymore.

Brilliant video Kev. and yeat that foliage could do with a little more water, When watering water either use drip or water until it flows out the bottom and then leave until its almost dry but not quite. Appreciate the shout out and showing of my methods. Tony

I've grown potatoes just from using the peeling. I watched my compost pile come to life with beautiful potato vines

I think your voice is ASMR to my cat 😂 I watch so many epic gardening vids and I notice every time I play one with you as the narrator, she gets in my lap and starts purring & making muffins. Ginger is your biggest fan!

In regard to cutting out the extra eyes. A lot of peelers have a pointy bit on the top for just exactly that purpose.

I love that. I have already bought a gorilla cart and I haven’t even seen an episode with him using one yet lol I’m on the right track I guess.
