I saw this pop up and thought, "Oh, Lord, Cassie may need therapy."
I didn't like how this made me feel, but I also know that was probably the point. Robert De Niro was incredible, and I believed him completely as Travis, but the movie left me feeling lonely and uncomfortable and yucky in a way I did not enjoy. I am very curious how you read the ending though. Real, or in his head?
“If I’d have known you didn’t like these kinds of movies, I would have taken you to a different movie.”
“he’s a good guy he just needs to sleep” 😄
The passenger in the Taxi who had Robert stop at the apartment building to watch his wife that was director :” Martin Scorsese “!!
"So he's okay?" Remember at the very end, Travis looks in the rear view mirror and there's a weird music glitch and paranoid look in his face? No, he's not okay.
Jodie Foster said that the scene in which Sport sweet-talks her and holds her was easier to film than to watch. Robert De Niro, Harvey Keitel, and all the men were kind to her. She liked and trusted them. She knew the scene would freak people out, but to her, it was in a day's work.
This was Bernard Herrmann's last score. Genius.
Not surprised Cassie didn't like Taxi Driver. It is an incredibly uncomfortable watch.
I know it’s fun seeing Cassie watch really challenging films, but eventually Come and see is going to win one of these polls and she’s never getting over that. Please, moderators, for the love of god tell her that some films just are not for her.
