i would've thought this was one of the movies you would've already watched millions of times by now, it would be right up your alley.
Cassie mentions 'Much Ado About Nothing' but, if she hasn't seen the 1993 film version she should, she'd love it. And what a cast... Ken Branagh, Emma Thompson, Denzel Washington, Keanu Reeves, Michael Keaton, Kate Beckinsale and a whole host of great British character actors.
Once again, Tom Stoppard's writing is so fabulous!
"So Cassie, how was Shakespeare in love?" "I forgot to snack on my movie snacks until the end credits." "That good, hunh?"
Marlowe is also a famous playwright who was murdered in a brawl under mysterious circumstances. One of the many clever things about this script is the way it plays with that historical mystery.
This soundtrack does something to me. It’s so beautiful and uplifting yet somehow incredibly sad at the same time. But even better it syncs with the movie perfectly
I know Cassie said she was only into romances and rom-coms before the channel, now I know why. She is truly a romantic.
The chemistry between Paltrow and Fiennes is absolutely phenomenal.
The Eager Boy John Webster was an actual English Playwright that came after WS. He's known for his particularly dark view of human nature and is reflected in his plays.
One of the things I really liked about this movie is that it gives the viewer an idea of how plays were performed in Elizabethan England: what the theaters looked like, how the plays were staged, the type of special effects they used.
