there should be another series called "unlearning english" where sugi asks question about english and cameron answers, in japanese
"There's nothing goddamn about that sentence" You guys are hilarious 😂
I love that Sugi's shirt literally says "happy sardines" in Greek
I once explained to a Japanese person that "You're shit" would mean you suck or are bad, but "You're THE shit" means you're awesome.
happy sardines to you too, from Greece with love!
@5:36 Sugi's Japanese moments... "Shit is negative? Oh, positive shit!" 😂 the duality of English
Honestly, the first conversational Japanese a person should learn is; sou desu ne. It’s a broadly applicable neutral response to any statement that offers polite acknowledgement when no further information is required. In fact, it was among the first things I was taught in highschool japanese in the late nineties. That said, much more important is the ability to question a location, direction or time. Pointing at a platform and asking “sumimasen. Yamanote sen desu ka” will frequently lead to a poor flustered local apologetically grabbing your arm and taking you to the correct location. In my experience, people will be happy to help english speakers if you are polite, make an effort to use simple japanese and don’t overwhelm them with complex or colloquial english resposes.
positive shit got me😭
Every poltergeist got me dying 🤣
I wish Sugi could be my Japanese teacher, I'd honestly never get bored
