Instead of using body doubles, both of Paul Walker’s brothers came in and helped finish the movie. Before Paul died, he completed 85% of the movie. His brothers came and finished the rest of the movie after his passing. I’m glad y’all noticed which scenes weren’t with Paul in it, so those scenes were with his brothers. They didn’t have to do much in the editing when they were putting Paul’s face on his brothers because his brothers really looked like him. Also, it was his brothers that were in the ending of the movie.
RIP, Paul Walker, 1973-2013. The film is dedicated to his memory as he died in a car crash while in the middle of filming of Furious 7, which put the film on hold until 2014.
The line where Roman says “Just promise me Brian no more funerals” and Brian responds “Just one more, his.” gives me chills down my spine every time i hear it because of how sad and coincidental it was.
25:02 This is actually a practical stunt... people couldn't believe it, but it is. 7 is "For Paul", 8 is "From Paul" as it was Paul Walker's idea for the plot for Fate of the Furious, people forget that
58:45 Fun fact: This scene was filmed after Paul's passing. So when Jordana Brewster was filming this scene, those were real emotions. I remember watching a documentary talking about this. That scene in general had the cast and crew in tears. Also, there were over 300 CGI shots that WEREN'T Paul Walker and instead used his brother (who looks alot like him) as a body double.
Only Blind Wave recognized that dude whose car gets impaled by the tree on the mountain is the same dude that loses his muscle car to Brian and Roman in 2 fast 2 furious.
"Promise me Brian, no more funerals." "Just one more" was such a crazy exchange, knowing that Paul had passed a few months later.
I remember trying to hold back tears in the theatre, and all you can hear are other guys sniffling. Paul was part of childhood and probably one of the reasons why I'm into cars now. He's forever missed.
Given the unpredictable situation that they went through while filming, I gotta tip my hat to everyone involved who made the movie atleast work and entertaining enough
