WVU actually played for the national title in 1988 and was left out of the game despite an undefeated season in 1993. People forget WVU was a regular contender during the Don Nehlen era. Imagine WVU vs Virgina Tech in the opening round. And Finally I was thier for the home loss to Miami when we were in contention in the late 90's and the Pitt game you mentioned.
