The only implication I see is that he is tired and will not continue to let his family be harassed and put in danger. If he comes out and says he has done something wrong, okay. Until then I won't believe that he was involved in anything intentionally or maliciously that is against the law or harmful to the people. He is a good soul. His children are a testament to both gov Walz and his wife. By all accounts, a good family. ❤
We need the same kind of media coverage on DeSantis with all of the fraud he and his wife have been behind in florida.
Minnesota turned this fraud over to the FBI in 2015. Consider that...
Not seeking reelection is not the same as resigning. He will finish his term in office.
In the words of JVL, "People are idiots" The rabid desire to accept rumors and reject facts is why America & much of Europe is doggedly ushering a new Dark Age.
Sarah, he isn't resigning, he just isn't running for a 3rd term.
There was not a single state in the nation that escaped fraud during the pandemic. Every governor, legislature, and agency, Republican or Democrat, presided over systems that failed to prevent misuse of emergency aid. Unemployment Insurance, SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, and relief grants were all exploited. The difference is not whether fraud occurred, it did everywhere. The difference is in how states responded. Democratic‑led states generally published audits and loss figures, exposing the scale of the problem. Republican‑led states, by contrast, have often worked harder to obscure the true losses, withholding transparent reporting and minimizing disclosure. Fraud was universal. Accountability should be universal too. No party can claim immunity, but no party should be allowed to bury the evidence.
Regardless of whether or not there was fraud, a good leader knows that the "buck" stops with them. If someone in a government agency messed up, the leader is ultimately responsible. This takes a leader who is courageous and honest. We will never see that with someone like trump who will divert blame at all costs.
Not a governor problem. It's an attorney general and legislative (Minnesota) problem.
Well, isn’t that a change, a politician taking responsibility for a mess, regardless of direct culpability.
