As a Black woman, I immediately understood why Lady Danbury steadfastly supported and encouraged her husband. She is waging countless battles simultaneously (personal, social, political, etc.), and one of them required her to be on the same team as her husband against the prevailing view that Black men were not worthy of being treated equally.

It’s feels different too because this is the only season completely written by Shonda Rhimes. She’s just EP and writer on a few episodes of the og series

Queen Charlotte is so much better than any other season of Bridgerton in my opinion, it feels deeper and more real, there's a perfect balance of romance and sadness, I love it!

He didn’t just take advantage of a vulnerable man, he relished it. There’s a clear power play in the way he operates, an almost disturbing satisfaction in being able to make the most powerful man in England bend to his will. The king, who commands an entire nation, is reduced under his authority, and the doctor leans into that imbalance. His methods feel less like treatment and more like domination disguised as care. And that vulnerability is exactly what people seem to be underestimating. George’s condition isn’t something a loyal right-hand man can “fix,” nor is it something he can overcome through sheer willpower, affection, or being calmed down in the moment. Reducing it to something that can be solved with a hug or reassurance completely misses the reality of what he’s experiencing. His condition is not a temporary lapse or a matter of strength, it’s a consuming illness with a trajectory of its own. It was never something he could simply overcome if he tried hard enough. In many ways, it was always going to be a losing battle, and that’s what makes it so deeply tragic. The real cruelty is that while George is fighting something he cannot control, the doctor turns that struggle into a stage for his own authority.
