Just a note about Syphilis. I work with special needs/disabled adults. There was one we had who contracted the disease as an 18 year old. At the time he was a normal, healthy man. By the time my grandmother met him (she was his primary caregiver) he was 20, just got diagnosed and cured of it, but the illness had destroyed his brain. He behaved equivalent to a 3 year old toddler, and progressively continued to lose motor function and bodily autonomy due to it. He passed at 50, making it surprisingly long under our care. It is a cure able disease but it is horrific with its consequences. Also merry Christmas from the syphilisteners
