There’s an update to the last post, basically the mom was secretly always cuckoo and believes that family should always stick to one specific location and when OP moved away she saw him as a villain that popped her delusional bubble of what a perfect family should be. Then she slowly started poisoning the family against OP until they iced him out. OP explained this to his aunt and she’s on his side but the rest of the family didn’t really acknowledge his words so OP decided to just stay away and live his own life and not bother with trifling people.
Story 3: The family deserves a much higher score. They ostracized OP for moving out of their hometown and are trying to alienate them from the rest of the family as well by lying about it.
Getting a homie of the groom to dress up in a silly bride costume and doing a fake “prank” first look? Cute, funny, priceless. Tricking the groom into touching some grown man he barely knows, completely unaware, making him extremely uncomfortable? wtf not ok on any planet 💀 how tf did they expect him to react? That’s just a sick excuse of a “joke” bullying more like
Story 2. Publicly embarrasing your new spouse on their wedding day is the absolute worst way to start your marriage.
"She told me I was being controlling and manipulative". I would have told her to be consistent, those are big words and concepts for a toddler to be throwing out.
Story 2 has me raging... it's his wedding and I think pranks are wrong in weddings
I was about 19 and was in a “Christian” youth group. One of their very weird things to do was to have losers of a game sit in a chair that had a mild shock. One boy lost and didn’t want to sit in the chair, all the while people in the group were taunting him as he was visibly scared. I finally said, “What nice ‘Christians’ we are.” At that point the leader said enough and everyone stopped taunting the boy and I do believe the chair was no longer used.
Story 4: It's so telling that the mother's first words were "How could you embarrass us?" Not dissapointment that he isn't a part of the celebration or that they wouldn't see him, just thinking of the consequences of his absence. So sad to hear. OP was likely only invited due to all the questions after the engagement party.
Story 4 : The fact that op could bring a plus one just proves that the brother doesn’t want him to be at the wedding for whatever reason.
The garter story is the equivalent of a cake in the bride’s face except it’s also sexual harassment. And minimizing his feelings of anger due to this humiliation is just manipulation and a red flag. What a way to start a marriage!
