Weird plex but ok
you know what's hellish? working at the 99% of companies that dont bother sending employees on trips like this
I can't believe you got Dario to play as The Diffler.
Looking forward to next years theme "naked and afraid".
Prime you worked at Netflix and you are going to try and tell a bunch of nerds you don't know what Plex is? Come on, son.
You're supposed to torch the hairs off the spider before eating it.
The CEO Situation is Crazy
I was at some startup and the ceo decided he wanted an athletic competition day. Our ceo was an ex marine and does triathlons etc. They told us the exercises and competitions in advance, maybe two months before. I wasn’t in the greatest shape at that time, as an engineer with young kids and no sleep. And like these things go, we were all pressured to compete. But I didn’t want to embarrass myself too much so I picked one of the competitions which was to do the plank for as long as possible. It’s not really an exercise that people pay too much attention to, in terms of personal records, etc. And it seemed to be the most convenient in terms of practicing and easy to measure improvement, and you can really improve in two months. The best thing that worked for me was to keep my mind on something else. As long as I didn’t think about the plank itself I could do it for longer. So the actual competition went predictably for the most part. Not great for most of it. The running made me feel nauseous. And it ended up that the last challenge was the plank. Everyone started at the same time and the competition was to last the longest. And it went pretty well. In the end it was me and the ceo left. And he was in good shape for real and in the end I was really struggling to keep my mind off the feeling. It drew a lot of attention because it was like I came out of nowhere. And I was dying but justified holding off quitting because I already put in so much effort, and ended up winning. It was fun. The ceo was annoyed but my coworkers got a thrill out of it.
