One of the most powerful films ever made, 50 years on it’s still relevant
McMurphy was a healer of dead boredom , a motivater , he cared and wanted to have fun He gave them what they needed ....to live again .
My father was an English teacher late in his career, after being an administrator for most of it, and was educating troubled highschool kids in vocational programs. He used this movie to create an elaborate study of how if you find yourself in the grips of government sponsored incarceration, that if you choose to rebel, and be insubordinant to your captors, you don't ever have to leave their accomodations. He successfully enlightened his students with tools to make better decisions to avoid such entanglement. He actually won a prestigious award from his peers, because his lesson was so effective. He was tough to live with, but I thank God every day that he was my Pop. And I am living a good life, with a strong mind, thanks to his harsh guidance, and great wisdom.
This is such a timely message for the world.
The movie is timeless, it could be any decade and any state, even now.
Right. It's all about control as it is now. Half the guys there were not crazy, they just did not fit in.
A key aspect of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest that many people miss is that almost everyone is there voluntarily. They can leave whenever they want, but they choose to stay. We all hold the key to the mental prison we are in.
If you enjoyed this video, please like and comment for the algorithm Gods (who aren’t my friend but these days)… For any Office fans, unfortunately 3 of my Office videos were suddenly blocked by NBC. So my Office character analysis series is at the very least postponed until the issue is resolved
No other movie affected me as much as this movie did.
This film is in the top 3 best films in cinema history
