The tragic death of 21-year-old Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, who plunged 130 feet during a rope jumping incident at an abandoned bridge in Limeira, Brazil, has sparked international outrage. Three instructors have been arrested and charged with homicide with eventual intent amid stunning claims that the young woman was tossed off the platform without being attached to any safety ropes. “Allegedly thrown off a bridge” I think the video makes it pretty clear that it happened

This is so horrendous. The fact that she was still alive after the fall, so heartbreaking.

The guy in the back who PICKED UP HER FEET THAT DID NOT HAVE A ROPE ATTACHED, literally her feet were inches from his face and hands. It is proximity to her body and the direction of his gaze that shows the negligence. The guy was handling her feet and then SO CLOSE to her FEET that he was close enough to see there was nothing attached ANYWHERE ON HER BODY, and then he stepped back as the other two stepped forward with her and he has FULL VIEW OF HER BODY SUSPENDED IN THE AIR WITH NO ROPE and he should have noticed right then that nothing was attached.

It is obvious the young woman has no line attached. How is even possible not to see that, not by one but three instructors? This is,in my opinion, way more than gross negligence.

Why do people keep bringing up that this is a notoriously dangerous bridge? It's not the bridge's fault. Any bridge is dangerous if you're tossed off it.

The hardest part to understand is how multiple people were involved and nobody stopped to verify the most important safety step.

The “don’t distract the rope operators” sign makes me wonder what has distracted them before that made that sign necessary lol
