Telling my wife that the mold in the shower is important
So you're telling me the mold travel an unfathomable distance and time just to end up on my wall in the barracks and get me yelled at by my boss
We all are just mold growing in a rock, beautiful
Its been very amusing watching panspermia move from the fringes to legitimate consideration based on scientists coming to terms with just how incredibly hardy some microbes are.
Years ago ,as a young guy studying microbiololgy, i was fascinated by a species of bacteria called Deinococcus radiodurans. It was originally dioscovered surving food sterilizing radiation. It was also able to survive in space. Still have no idea how it does this.
Mold, mushrooms, and tardigrades never fail to make life more interesting.

A good look at mold survival in extreme conditions would be the black mold growing and thriving inside the Chernobyl ruins.
